Aim and scope of course

​

Basics about printing substrates, inks and coatings (raw materials, preparation methods, properties and their applications in the printing technologies) are included.

 

Description of course

​

The first part of the course deals with the printing substrates that are used in packaging. Definitions about the substrates, raw materials and structure of materials, industrial process and methods of treatment, as well as the quality control methods are studied. Substrates made from paper and cardboard, polymer materials, glass and textiles are examined. Furthermore, special cases where paper, polymers and textiles find applications in flexible electronics (paper electronics, conductive polymers, conductive textiles) are examined. Inks and coatings that are used in packaging are presented in the second part of the course. Raw materials of inks and ink manufacture, qualitative control, properties and their applications are studied. Students are invited to write and present a project.

 

Expected training results

Students will have acquired a basic level of knowledge about the field “printing substrates and inks in packaging” (components, uses, properties, applications etc.) and the methods of their qualitative control. They will be able to choose the proper material for each application.

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to examine and understand the specifics of the software environment in the recording of information, as the possibilities of programming the information of the microprocessors <chip> will be examined. Also, reading and communication devices will be described and examined through printed antennas, corresponding radio frequencies, telephone communication, smart packaging applications.

Description of course


The course starts with the first descriptive analysis of the <Software> programming environment, the programming language capabilities and the desired results in the initial phase. Analyzes and organizes data and requirements for application in smart packages, as well as programs supporting communication protocols, such as GEN2, EPC, etc. They are recorded in Libraries, for archiving the data data that will form the basis to establish the required data. Analyzes the device / s, <Hardware> with the capabilities it can provide for communication use. Describes the applications in an Internet environment, with the necessary analyzes of the assets or disadvantages they operate. Finally, the capabilities of applications on substrates for smart packaging are analyzed.


Expected training results

The results expected from the module will include the basic programming principles and the programs that will support communication protocols.

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to examine and understand the peculiarities of printing technologies and technical applications for the industrial production of printed packaging. In particular, forms of packaging will shape the flow along with the analysis of paper packaging techniques for small or large production. The flow of the production of packaging <products and services> has particular characteristics which are interdependent on the conventional and electrical properties of the printing substrates and their characteristics.

Description of course


The course defines the concepts and definitions associated with productive printing technologies and records the methods through international classification. It presents simple elements of color and visual perception. Classifies the graphics application for printing with data on substrate and production constraints. It analyzes the phases and fields of action of the relevant form and organizes the production flow. It analyzes mechanical and technical details of the technique in the printing machine. It presents the uterine elements <offset / cliché for flexography / embossed roll for rotogravure, archive for digital printing, silk screen, etc.> for its manufacture, storage and adaptation to the corresponding printing machine. It presents the parameters for quality control and analyzes the possibilities for interventions by the human operator. Print quality control devices are presented with the corresponding scatter chart recordings.

After the end of the course the students are expected to:

Aim and scope of course

The course aims to understand the concept of entrepreneurship, recognition of business opportunities and the importance of developing a business plan to successfully implement new ideas.

Description of course

​

The first part of the course concerns Entrepreneurship. The concepts and characteristics of entrepreneurship are analyzed, the different types and forms of entrepreneurship are presented, and the factors determining entrepreneurship are identified. The implications and effects of entrepreneurship are then evaluated, with particular emphasis on the presentation of case studies. At the end of the first part we list the different types and forms of enterprises in Greece and in the European Union.
The second part of the course concerns the Business Plan. The concept of the business plan is defined and the importance of its training is analyzed. The phases of a project and the choice of objectives set by the company in the preparation of a project are presented, and then the importance of determining the position of the company in the market and the importance of the project as an important development tool are highlighted. After the theoretical analysis of the concepts related to the business plan, the methodology for drawing up the project is presented. Students are invited to develop a business plan as part of the course's activities

Aims and Scope

This lesson aims at providing the concepts related to contemporary marketing and especially to consumer marketing. Towards these directions the new transactions tendencies among businesses and consumers are presented. Several examples are provided regarding the latest techniques incorporated in digital marketing. Additionally also the supporting and enabling technologies are discussed. Special emphasis is given on the innovation aspects of smart packaging, which lead to the sustainable development of companies as well as to the increase of market share.

 

Description

Initially the definitions and concepts that are related to contemporary marketing are provided. Then the significance of marketing as a factor that leads to the sustainable development of companies is illustrated. Next new tendencies in digital marketing are explained. In particular topics such as E-Commerce, Search Engine Optimisation, Web Trends, Web Analytics, Social Media Marketing, Web Ranking, CrowdFunding, CrowdInnovation, social computing and online consumer behaviors, user profiling, marketing applications through virtual and augmented reality are analyzed. Special emphasis is given in selecting proper case studies that highlight the peculiarity of consumer marketing, as well as the importance of new technologies and smart packaging in the markets of the future.

After the completion of this lesson, the students will be able to:

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to bring students to first contact with theory and methodology of antenna design. Understand how they are used in <Forms / Types> design. Understand the potential of signal emission on packaging substrates to create a conventional packaging in smart packaging. It seeks to understand the composition and properties of the various substrate types, printing inks and varnishes applied to the packaging.

Description of course

Initially, the data and the importance of the antenna for signal transmission are analyzed on a substrate for packaging. Given that intelligent packaging is determined inter alia by a set of technical features, it is treated together with the product as a single set that follows the design methodologies. Students come in contact with the concept of generic antenna design, specifications, design stages through quality signal control. The approach to signal emission is of great importance as the packaging is on paper, cardboard, plastic etc.> and can not be treated as an independent material but only as part of a more general system. Various design processes are described and particular importance is given to the signal emission in the packaging of the product. Also, the emission value <Fretownsticks> is considered for better communication in the printed package.

The course aims to understand the composition and properties of materials which apply to smart packaging.

 

Description of course

In this course are presented the categories of materials that find application in smart packaging. In particular, the methods of preparation and characterization, properties, characteristics and their applications will be mentioned. Indicatively, the materials to be studied are conductive (graphene, carbon nanotubes, etc.), thermochromic, hydrochromic, fluorescent, phosphorescent, photocatalytic, magnetic e.t.c.. Students are invited to write and present a project.

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to bring students to first contact with theory and design methodology and to understand how they are used in packaging design and more specifically in smart packaging.



Description of course

 Initially, the importance of conventional packaging is analyzed as part of the product and the elements identifying it are highlighted. Introducing innovative parts of smart packaging, in comparable relationships, compared to conventional. Given that intelligent packaging is determined inter alia by a set of technical features, it is treated with the product as a single set of following, for design methodologies. Students come in contact with the concept of holistic design, specifications, design stages through programs and from different perspectives, such as the human-centered and systemic approach. The system approach is of great importance as packaging cannot be treated as an independent product but only as part of a more general packaging system. Various design processes are described and particular importance is given to product life cycle and lifecycle intervention through packaging interventions.

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to present and understand the concepts of technology and innovation, interaction between them, and the strategic role of (technological) change and innovation at different levels, types of innovation - ways of innovation, models and approaches to business change. The aim of the course is to enable students to recognize the strategic importance of innovation and technology management and to explore how organizations are creating value through pursuing the development of innovative products and processes.


Description of course

The lesson begins with definitions of basic concepts: what is Research and Development, what is innovation, and why it is important for modern enterprises in the global division of labor. Then, the concept of the life cycle of a technology will be considered, and it will be combined with the life cycle of specific products associated with / utilized / supported by this technology. Through the analysis of specific examples and case studies, students will be trained to familiarize themselves with the business practices, tactics and process that apply, and which affect the technological orbit of innovation. It will also explore the relationship between new technologies, their commercial exploitation and their transformation into successful innovations.

Aim and scope of course

The aim of the course is to examine and understand the marketing specifics for business-to-business transactions. The flow of products and services between businesses has particular characteristics and decisions are expected to be taken with more rational criteria than those of retail consumers.

 

 

Description of course

The course starts with an emphasis on differentiating B2B Marketing with regard to B2C Marketing. They analyze the specificities of business-to-business transactions and outline the key features of the industrial markets. The following are the special features of Marketing within industrial markets, attractiveness analysis, competitor’s analysis and analysis, customer analysis, market potential forecasts, etc. Differences in B2B Marketing, the purchasing behavior of enterprises, the market research for industrial markets and industrial customers, the segmentation of industrial markets, industrial distribution networks, etc. The last part of the course is related to the importance of B2B Marketing for the promotion of smart packaging technologies, as the first customers of such technologies are usually mass-produced manufacturers that essentially resell this technology to retail customers they enrich the end product with innovative features.
